You can’t pick and choose

I get so upset when someone cherry picks Leviticus laws to bring into Christianity, it’s weird and I don’t get it. Someone will get plastered, eat some shrimp, then waltz around in their mixed fabric clothes claiming to be better than gay people or someone living with someone of the opposite sex that they aren’t married to, even if it’s platonic. It’s so frustrating! Why are you better than me? Why is MY faith supposed to center around what YOU think is right and wrong? Why must you berate and attack people who are trying their best, when you choose so many “sins” that are equally as relevant, if not WAY more serious! Why must Christians scream that children are broken and hated by God when that “abominable sin” matters as much as what you ate for breakfast?? I wish I was joking when I tell you I heard “God cares equally about what you do in bed as He cares about your faith in Him.” come out of the mouth of a ‘respectable’ Christian.

I don’t get it and I hurt so so badly seeing people talk shit about my God because they have only seen God through the eyes of horrible people and can’t bear to look again. That so many people are traumatized by just the idea that God might exist because of how they were taught religion. People have told me they know God exists but would rather believe that there’s nothing at the end of life because they’re terrified that how they were born will send them to hell. God loves them and they don’t even know because of holier-than-thou Christians won’t stop controlling people. I can’t stand it. That’s not loving others that’s hurting them!
