Would you choose your child's side?

Someone's gonna recognize this story and lol yep I am doing this. The problem is I've been replaying this game for years and I still can't stand Shaun.

This is purely hypothetical and based off a video game y'all. Literally, fallout 4.

In the game you start as a family of 3. You, your infant son, and your husband. The apocalypse happens and the world gets nuked to oblivion.. but your family is saved because you all entered a bomb shelter vault before you were nuked.

Your vault however was designed to commit horrible experiments on civilians in the case of nuclear war. Instead of being safe in the vault your entire family is frozen in cryo storage. Years go by and the staff in your family's vault end up wiping themselves out because they went mad under ground long story short.

-you wake up to your baby being stolen, and your husband being shot and killed. You get frozen again.

You wake up again and go on the search for your child. You find him and it turns out, he's 60 years old and dying of cancer. He is now the leader of the institution that stole him and killed your husband. He tells you that when he became their leader, he found out you (his mom) was still alive and frozen. So he unfroze you and let you out of the vault and let you suffer the ravages of the fucked up wasteland that is now the world after nuclear war. To "see what would happen. An experiment of sorts." But he's glad you made it because NOW he cares about you. Mind you, you had to do quite a few things for him in order for him to say all that shit. He expects you to take his place as the leader of the institute that stole your baby and murdered your husband.

Mind you, he is the ONLY family you have. It's been 210 years since the bombs drop, and he is in fact your son.

Now, for those of you who have played this game: let's forget what the institute has done. I myself modded it to where I can reform the institute and free all synths, make it illegal to hurt them or any common wealth citizens. So go based off of that info

I should add that there are other factions to side with. You can either side with your son or the other factions and destroy the institute.

What I did is I sided with the institute because I found it.., astonishing that humanity thrived like that after the apocalypse..but then I changed everything about it so it wouldn't be evil, I also saved Shaun from cancer and sent his ass to live in a dirty, crusty ass shack in the wasteland because instead of saving me he let me suffer when the little shit never ever had to step a foot out of the institute but wanted to see how his PREWAR parent would fair in the wastes, to see what would happen? Nah you don't get to live and die in luxury lmfao it's guard duty for you.
