Labor?

I'm 38 weeks + 6 days and with the last 4 days I've been getting period like cramps and back pain. I've also had this discharge. What does this mean? Am I in labor?

Doesn't sound like it. Sounds like you're heavily pregnant and having braxton hicks

Sounds like Braxton hicks. With my first I was so frustrated with seeing the "when you know you know" answers when you go into labor, I do get it now having been through it. BUT labor is a whole body cramp, it starts like a cramp in your back like a period but worse then moves around to your belly button and pushes down and it takes you off guard like you can't stand. Even in early labor the contractions hurt. I was at work for 2 hours before realizing I was in real labor and went home. Look for those more hoola hoop contractions that circle you and drop. Being dehydrated can also send you into a false labor so make sure you're drinking lots of water.

*not a doctor* I have a similar photo to this in my camea rolll — that I sent to my doula thinking my babygirl was coming ASAP (this was a week or two before my due date), I’d get the worst Braxton Hicks and even showed up with my mom to my husbands job to whisk him off to the hospital — cause I just knew THOSE were the “ones” but she didn’t. Kid took her time and came exactly 5 days AFTER her due date.
The day kiddie came— we’d already been at the hospital the night before , (they discharged me and said I’d had really intense Braxton Hixks but be ready)  and in the morning—- Just a few short hours of sleep later , I woke up in a whole gallon of fluid! My water broke and my husband screamed and almost fell out the bed 😂😂😂😂
My doula said the mucus plug dislodging is a good sign and that the body naturally moves toward this. Soon you’ll be meeting your littlw but be patient (the kid can hear you and like my kid might want to  be fashionably late or just shy 😜😘) .
