Potty training

So I wanted to start potty training, our kid isn't going to daycare and my husband isn't willing to help, so it's all up to me.

It's also winter here and he likes his carpet because it's more enjoyable for his feet (my husband, not my toddler)

I want to move the carpet upstairs because I have no interest in cleaning the carpet when he pees on it. .

But I also don't know what to do.. Like.. Do I not go anywhere? I am going to the gym 3 times/week because I'm trying to lose my pregnancy weight still and I'm just an unhealthy weight. So since my husband doesn't want to help potty training, should I cancel everything for an amount of time? I sincerely don't know how to do this 😕

Because even if I'm not working out, I still need to do shopping (I suppose I can push that on my husband) and shower and go to the toilet from time to time...

Edit:

My husband does do diapers, probably more than I do.

He also does bathing and clothing and cleaning up.

He just doesn't want to do potty training

@Kittycat

We're going to start bottemless, so nothing to take off. We'll just turn up the heat, our school system requires them to be fully potty trained by 2,5 yo so I wanted to start early enough. We tried before (around 14 months, when he got good at walking) and he even alarmed us about needing to go, but since I'm doing this alone I couldn't keep up since I had things to do. When we're at friends he goes to sit on their kid's potty and has seen them go on the potty as well. He shows signs of being ready or at least shows interest. He's now 17 months and I don't want to wait until his phase of being interested is over.. If that makes any sense.
