How do you feel about giving birth?

What's helped you feel more comfortable/confident about birth?

I was scared shitless. Then I got into actual labor and birth and I wasn’t feeling scared, nervous, I was just in the zone focusing on contractions honestly.

I’m shitting it if I’m honest but I also know it’s something I have no control over, even if I make a plan it’s probably going to go out the window when the time comes. I’m just trying not to think about it 😬🙈.

Well, I'm pregnant for the second time so everything is a bit different this time around.
But I was sooooooooo scared the first time. But I knew part of it was the unknown. I really didn't truly know what was gonna happen, how things progressed and just knew very little overall. So part of it was demystifying what it is.
I read a ton of stories, good and bad. I followed accounts on Instagram about empowering births and it helped a ton. Also read a book translated to "Paingfree birth" and while I didn't believe in that I at least wanted to feel as empowered and in control as possible.
And it helped. I felt ready when time was nearing.
I didn't have a perfect birth, but didn't have a traumatic one either. Overall I'm proud of myself and my body but I definitely have things to work on the be better mentally prepared this time.
I know I need to have a talk with a midwife about my birth at one point to discuss what can be done in case I go through some similar things next time.
So in short: Prepare yourself mentally and set yourself up for an empowering birth - in whatever way you prefer to give birth ♥

I am scared/nervous and excited! I am due in 11 days and tons of mixed emotions. Mainly scared of the unknown since this is my first delivery, excited to meet my baby and nervous for all the changes coming our way!

Eager to get it over with. Currently 25+ weeks, so about 14+ weeks to go. This is my second pregnancy and I was induced with my first. Looks like there is a high likelihood we’ll induce again, which is fine because I can plan around it. My only concern is the current medication I’m on may prevent me from getting an epidural, which would be… unpleasant.

I wasn’t even nervous the first time, but this time around I cry thinking about it 😅

I was excited and antsy the entire day leading up to my induction. Then I got there and I felt like nothing. I was ready. I wasn’t ever nervous. I was obviously excited but I wasn’t stalking the clock or obsessing about anything so time just flew by. Eventually, baby started struggling a lot and I was getting nervous because of the energy of my nurse and midwife (even though they were acting normal) and then I was getting angry because they wouldn’t do a C-section. Then baby calmed down and I got about 4-6 more hours of rest before they came in with urgency to have me push. I was never nervous for pushing because I had learned how to push and had practiced it. (Imagine playing tug of war in that position on your back, those are the muscles you use). He was out in a short 26 minutes. I DID NOT feel an immediate overwhelming love for my son. Then things happened and it took about 8 months for that overwhelming love for my son to happen. 
This time, I’m more worried about immediate postpartum because of what happened last time. But labor and delivery was amazing for me!!
