You would never know the battles this woman has fought. The struggles she deals with daily. The tears behind her smile. February 2021 was the first. June 2021 again September 2021 again. November 2021 she started bleeding and for sure though it was happening again. The HCG levels kept rising and even after the ER doctor said he was concerned about an ectopic pregnancy the midwifes refused to do an early ultrasound and said it was a healthy pregnancy. After announcing on Christmas to her family that it was finally happening, her 2 year old they fought to conceive was finally getting her siblings she’s been asking for. December 28th she went to bed stomach hurting and sick. Putting it off as just pregnancy symptoms she thought it was fine. Waking up on the 29th after being sick all night she called her sister to come get her 2 year old because she physically could not take care of her. By the time her sister got there she decided she needed to go to the ER expecting to get some meds and be sent home. Instead the ER doctor did an ultrasound panicked and ran out of the room. He came back in saying an ambulance was on the way the they were taking her to a different hospital and straight to an OR. The tube ruptured. She was on blood thinners for the pregnancy. She was bleeding internally and she was bleeding a lot. Her husband 3 hours away working didn’t make it in time for the surgery but was there when she woke up. SHE WOKE UP! I tell this story like this because even though it is my story I feel like I’m someone else looking in. It doesn’t feel like my story. How can someone survive this much in this short amount of time. I survive everyday! Being told I need emergency surgery a blood transfusion I’m losing a tube and my 4th baby in a year. That I might not make it home to my 2 year old. I fought for her. I fought to hold my 2 year old!! You would never know by her smile the hell she’s been through.
