Bleeding after birth

How long can you bleed after you give birth? I had my son via emergency c section October 30th. I had what I thought was a mild period 4 weeks to the day after that and then two weeks after that I had a regular period. And I have yet to stop fully bleeding. It’s always been brown tinted usually constantly when I wipe but I also have spots in my underwear. Today when I wiped it was a clot that was brown and pretty decent size. Is this normal after 9 weeks? I’m on birth control and it’s not time for my period yet.
