So I’m just venting. But I’m a marketing writer at a construction company, great pay but I’m also frustrated. So as a writer, I write articles for them and sometimes social copy. I LOVE writing. It’s been my passion for years and although I understand criticism, sometimes I feel like I do not belong here. I never know what they want. It’s like they give me criticism and I take it, understand it, and try to do better than my best and it still doesn’t turn out the way THEY want it to be. This is my first year working in construction so I’m still learning but at the same time, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp at what I’m talking about. But apparently not to my boss. She rips my pieces apart. Again, I welcome constructive criticism but the last article I wrote, I thought I did a great job! I kept all the facts there, kept it short, and it still was ripped to pieces.

It’s honestly so discouraging.
