Any daddy help? Please?!

Jes

Help a sister out if you can 🙏

Currently working from home as a contract worker while hubby works all day out of the home. This means the majority of my work gets done at night as I spend the day taking care of the little one and my 10 year old (outside of school hours). I really can only start work (or most of it , outside of quick emails) after dinner is made, everyone has eaten, homework is

done, and hubby can take the babe.

Well that leaves me maybe 4 hours to work, if I finish by midnight… because my husband still can not get our 3-month-old girl down to sleep. She can sleep on him on the couch… but when he puts her down in bed she wakes up screaming.

This means I have to stop work and lay down with her, wait for her to pass out, then return to work.

Or… he has to stay up with her sleeping on him on the couch until I’m done working. He gets up for work at 6am, so I end up feeling bad and cutting work short.

It’s frustrating and exhausting for both of us.

Any tips for how the daddy’s get your kiddos down at night sans mama?

I really appreciate any help.

If not, I’ll have to spend the big bucks on a sleep consultation 🙃🙃🙃

Our babe had always had a late bedtime. She wouldn’t fall into a deep sleep until midnight. She just turned 3 months and We’ve been moving it up, but slowly over time, like ten minutes earlier a day. Paying attention to wake windows helps a lot too.

Same with my hubby! There’s nothing like a mother’s intuition 😉

Yea I’m good with wake windows and I think that’s where my husband is having a hard time. I don’t think he spots or acknowledges them very well.

My friend sent me the files for Taking Cara Babies months 3-5 and having a simple bedtime routine along with letting baby self soothe seems to be helping us a bit. I will try to message you the files if you want to read it!

At 720 pm I bathe my baby with lavander soap and lotion.. put her on her sleep sack , sound machine on and give her her last feed and sometimes she falls asleep others she don't regardless of it I always out her down in her bassinet even if she is fully awake.. and she stares at her stars from the sound machine that project into the cieling , and she falls asleep by herself no fuss at all in btw 10 minutes.. I've done this with both my kids.. never really been the type of person to rock babies to sleep it doesn't ever work bc as soon as u put them down they always cry. But I've been. Doing this for a while now probably two months at least and my little one learned how to self soothe . I recommend this approach for sure.

Also naps go the same way.. she has learned that her bassinet is for sleeping and doesn't fuss anymore.
