Spotting

My husband and I have been trying for 5 months now. I was on birth control for ~10 years but stopped it about 7 months ago. I know everyone says it will just take time, but I’m having trouble wrapping my head around something. Half the time when my husband and I have sex I end up spotting. Sometimes really badly (like this morning). My ovulation date is around the 18th this month so I’m still a week away. I went to the doctor last month and she said my FSH etc. levels were all normal and my digital exam was normal as well. Has this happened to anyone?
