Progesterone Post IUI?

Question

Yesterday I had my first IUI. 😊 when we scheduled the iui my RE mentioned putting me on progesterone sometime after. But, at our appointment our RE wasn't there, a nurse preformed the iui. &.. never asked if we had questions and I never got a prescription or instructions. 
Did anyone else take progesterone post iui? If so, what day did you start?

I'm scheduled to start progesterone Thursday. I had iui sunday monday. I have heard they always do progesterone with iui just as a precaution.

I had an IUI today and yesterday. We aren't starting the progesterone until tomorrow night.
