Stiff above belly button and occasional sharp pain

I am 39 weeks as of today and since an hour or so ago I have been feeling this extreme stiffness above and around my belly button like the baby is lodged or something. She is also head down so was kicking before around that area and on the right. Anyone else have s similar experience? Something to be concerned about? I did call my OB and left her a message but I don't even know if I am describing it right. I have had mild period pains on and off for last 3 days but other than that nothing else.  Thanks for any feedback
