Unmedicated vbac

Ok so I had a successful vbac in october of 2019 at 38w2d.

Mg vbac was only 16mo pp from my csection. My dr strongly advised a epidural as if things went south she did not want to have to put me to sleep. Looking back on my vbac I was basically in transition when I got my epidural and then ended up pushing for 3 hours but I feel it was bc I was soooooo dead. This is my last baby and I would really like to have an unmedicated birth but I'm also scared of the risks of uterine rupture and the possibility of having to be put to sleep in the event of a csection. I need some thoughts an educated opinions
