When do you count your cycle from?

Do you class day 1 from when you start light spotting or from full flow?

I never really spotted much before my period, maybe like a couple hours at most,  but I did spot after some months. I never counted those as a period day. I think as long as you’re consistent each month it doesn’t really matter unless like the other comments said you need testing from your doctor. I personally would count the first show of blood as the start of my period but that’s just me and based on how my cycles worked. If I spotted for days beforehand maybe not

Full flow. When you have to do treatments or testing, the doctor instructs that spotting doesn’t count, but to wait for full flow to count it as CD1.
