just an explanation i am 5’3 199 lbs. i got NIPT test done at quest diagnostics when i was 13+5.. i’m now 15 weeks. could it have come back invalid due to my weight ? she didn’t say why exactly just said it could be numerous issues. my 13 weeks ultrasound looked good so i don’t want to get worried about the baby not being okay. i really wanted to know the gender asap but i’ll have to wait until i can get it done and i hope the results come this time… has this happened to anyone else ??

I’ve heard of not having enough fetal fraction due to a persons weight. I’ve seen women on these apps have the same issue, they wound up having to do the test again.

If you’re 15 weeks, you only have 5 weeks left until your anatomy scan, I would just wait the 5 weeks

Yes, being overweight is the number one reason that the test can fail for low fetal fraction. There are other reasons, but that’s the main one. Since you were pretty far along when you did it (almost 14 weeks), I have a feeling it may fail again... but they usually let you try again once for free!
