12w3d and still haven’t had my NIPT

Is this late to get a NIPT? I’m having an issue with the company my doctor referred me to and my insurance so I’m trying to get my doctor to order the NIPT from a different company for me (Inviate) bc it’s a lot cheaper. For some reason they’re really dragging their feet about it and I’m almost ready to go to a different obgyn practice bc of this. I have my 12 week scan with the sonographer tonight where they’ll measure the fluid on my baby’s neck but I don’t know what they’ll be able to tell me about the likelyhood of Down Syndrome (I’ve heard the sonographers can’t tell you anything, they give the scan to the doctor and the doctor calls you with the results, is that true?)

Am I behind now? When did you have your NIPT?
