Do a lot of men in their mid 20s say they don’t want kids but change their mind in their 30s?

I’m in a happy relationship but the only thing that bothers me is that my boyfriend has gone from wanting kids to now wanting a vasectomy after his best mate had a baby. It kinda hurts me as I know that one day I would like a baby, just one kid as I don’t think I would be able to live without a family.

He only says it in a joking way but it hurts me. When I brought it up he said ‘at the minute he says no but he doesn’t know how he’ll feel when he has more money.’ He said that people seem to be happier without kids because they get to travel and go on lots of holidays and have a nice house. I’m quite a lonely person so I’m excited for a family in future but I’m no way ready now either but I hope in 10 years or so I will ( I’m 23). Travelling doesn’t really excite me, I get super home sick

What complicates things is that I’m demisexual so he is the only guy I’ve ever been attracted to in my life as we have such a great connection. Leaving him to find someone who wants kids would defo mean me settling for some other man I’m not really attracted to
