My boyfriend doesn’t want me to talk to a friend

Okay, so this is a friend I have in class and we started talking everyday and I get rlly along with him, the thing is, he has a crush on me, and I don’t like him, but my boyfriend doesn’t like that I talk to him at all and he made me promise I won’t talk to him. But now what do I do? Bc I know my friend is gonna feel extremely sad if I tell him I won’t be talking to him bc he always tells me how I’m the best thing that happened to him this year :/ I’m so lost I don’t know what to do😩😭
