Hey ladies I am sure this question has been asked a million times but can anyone fill me in on the difference between implantation bleeding and start of period.

As of today I was 8 days late but when I went to the bathroom and wiped there was a little very pink blood. That was about 9 hours ago. I put in a tampon after the second trip to the bathroom and noticed there was still some light pink blood. When I went to change it out it had a little bit on the top end but other than that nothing. (About two hours) It was a little darker but not by much. I am however cramping quite a bit but oddly enough it's more locally on the right side.

Usually my periods are right on time and start off slowly but within an hour or two after it starts Its gotten pretty heavy. Idk I guess I'm trying to hold on to a little hope that's not there.
