My doctor confronted me about a Facebook comment I made
I’m 19 weeks pregnant with my third. I’ve had the same doctor with all 3. He did excellent with my first. However, my last bith experience with my son was traumatic. My baby and I almost Died. My doctor broke my water, the cord prolapsed, we rushed for an emergency c-section, my incision site opened back up 5 hours after the operation, I lost so much blood I had to get closed back up and a blood transfusion.
Then my doctor almost sent me home with an infection. He didn’t even have any antibiotics prescribed even though I was high risk for an infection But the on call doctor pretty much saved me from that and even told me I needed to stay an extra 24 hours because he didn’t feel good about sending me home. Then Even afterwards when I went to get my staples removed my doctor left one in.
Well I’ve been seeing him for this pregnancy because he’s one of the only “good” doctors In my area. I was going to make an appointment with a new doctor for the rest of my pregnancy, I’ve just been being cautious & reading reviews asking around too. I was planning on changing doctors after my anatomy scan.
2 weeks ago a lady on a public group on Facebook asked for recommendations for OB doctors in the area. I commented and said if she’s pregnant I recommend her not to use the doctor I used. I told her my first baby went smoothly he did good but how with my second everything went wrong I told her what happened and he didn’t do good. Then I deleted the comment the next day bcuz I don’t want my business on the internet like that.
So I go to my appointment today & my doctor confronts me about it saying “if you don’t trust me we can help you find a new doctor since Your online posting about it for the public to see” I didn’t want to tell him I was already planning on seeing a new doctor. He said everything always gets back to him. we talked for about 15 minutes and I told him I had already deleted the comment after I posted it anyways. I also told him I was sorry, which idk if that was necessary… It was just really awkward.
Such an awkward situation. I really wish I would not have made the comment in the first place, but I was just stating my experience!
I have an appointment to get the anatomy scan done on Tuesday so I’m calling to make an appointment with a new doctor on Monday.
EDIT: I posted this just to share my awkward experience lol. Idk why some women are commenting rude things. We’re in the middle of moving 3 hours away so I was definitely switching no matter what. Even if we weren’t moving I was going to switch.
**** I have a new doctor!! I made an appointment the very next day after this weird situation & omg my new doctor is so amazing 💛
Also, I NEVER SAID HE WAS UNPROFESSIONAL FOR CALLING ME OUT! Just odd situation to be in 🥲
