How soon should I read to my baby?

I’ve read differently articles talking about how reading to my baby while in the womb is super beneficial. When did you all start doing this? What type of books did you read to your baby?

I didn’t in the womb, but almost 4 years later we’ve read anywhere from 1-8 books a day. I started once she was born. That being said, if you want to read now probably 1-2 a day is good!

I started the day they were born ! I read every day multiple books multiple times a day and they are turning 1 next week, they looove books

I read to my twins when I was pregnant and everyday since they were born. I read age appropriate books to them. Sometimes they’ll ask me to read from a book I’m reading. They have an extensive vocabulary for their age and are very chatty. 
Read, read, read and make it a habit. It really makes a world of difference to their development.

We read books on occasion as a newborn, but mostly just high contrast black and white books for visual stimulation. We didn’t start actively reading on a regular basis until probably 9 months old but my son is 20 months now and still LOVES books! The earlier the better, but don’t worry if your baby is 6 months old and you’ve only read a few books to them. We did lots of songs and talking before we got into books.
