Born 40w2d! Finally our turn!

Christina

I was due on 1/29, that day came and gone. I really thought with this being my third that I'd have him early, nope.

On 1/30 we went crazy watching the Bengals game, I was on edge for hours 😂. At 9pm I was tucking my son into bed and felt a trickle down my leg. When it never stopped I just knew it was my water leaking. We arrived at the hospital around 10:30pm and sure enough, it was my water but I was still at 2cm and baby was high.

On a side note, with my other 2 kids my water broke in a big gush and contractions started fast/hard.

By 1am on 1/31 I still wasn't having painful contractions so the plan was pitocin at 5am. 3:30 -4am I felt a huge gush of water and boy did those contractions come quick. 2-3minutes apart immediately and lasting 1-2min. She checked me and I was at 4cm. Tried morphine (I knew better, it's never worked for me) contractions just got harder. By 6am I was finally about to get my epidural, they checked me and I was at 7cm so they weren't confident that it'd work in time. Well it did start working but only on my left side 😩 At 7am I was at a 10 and baby was on his way out. They immediately got me into position and all of a sudden my epidural was finally working. Within 5 pushes baby boy was out at 7:26am! No assistance, no pain, no tearing, no stitches! I was so glad I didn't feel the ring of fire this time even though the contractions were the most intense.

Welcome baby Kallen! 8lbs 19 3/4in long and healthy! Now we are ready to get home!

I got Covid at 37w6d but baby boy held off long enough for us to get out of isolation and test negative! Thank you and good luck to you!
