Is a small pelvic and baby measuring big enough reason for a c-section?

Am currently 38wks  and optioning for the midwife brew to escape having a c-section. Bc my first c-section experience was terrible. Horrible and traumatising... was planning for a vbac but it seems my OB is not on the same page with me. Am really scared but she gave me one week to go into labor naturally or straight to having a cs because my pelvic is small and baby is measuring big. Are these enough reasons to do a cs?

Did they actually measure your pelvis? How do they know your baby is measuring ahead?

Fetal measurements can be way off! I’ve read so many stories about women being told their baby was measuring 3-4 weeks ahead, and was a 8lb baby at 36 weeks and would be 10lb at birth etc and end up giving birth to a 6-7lb baby! 
I’m sure they’re accurate sometimes but a lot of the time they’re not. Also how can they accurately measure the size of your pelvis? Our bodies typically don’t make babies bigger than our body can handle. Our bodies are amazing! Trust your body, your body knows what it’s doing. 
Just because your midwife says one thing does NOT mean you HAVE to do that. It’s YOUR body and YOUR birth and YOUR baby. Not hers.

I don’t know a lot about this but I thought that after you have a c section they always do them no matter what after so that you avoid the risk of tearing your scar while pushing. Also, i think your pelvic bones separate while in labor so I’m not sure if the size of it would matter too much. I could be wrong though!

What did your doctor say? She’s the only one who can really answer this as it depends a lot on your medical history. Why did you need a csection for your first delivery? How big are they estimating baby? How long has it been between deliveries? There’s too many variables.

The chances of having a successful VBAC worsens if you have a large baby especially with a small pelvis.
