Is social media getting cringy/cringier?

I am 27 and got Instagram when I was a senior in high school. I’m now starting to feel like Instagram is getting super cringy like Facebook did. Does anyone agree? Or am I just getting too old for that stuff? 😂

I’m 30 and I deleted all my social media about a year ago, it’s just the same nonsense and toxic messages no matter what platform. The only thing I have is this app, which I only use when I’m pregnant.

It is and it’s full of advertisements. Every other post/story is an ad about something. I wish they offered a small fee for “premium” like Glow do’s to get rid of Al the damn ads.

I got rid of social media of all forms when I was 21, about 3 years ago. Was sick of it’s influence on me & my brain. I have never looked back & I never will, lol. Even this app feels like too much sometimes.

Yes! But I also think it depends how you use it. Although I deleted Facebook, I liked Facebook because I was in a lot of mom groups/hobby groups that were useful. But never used it to actually post things. Same with Instagram, just use it to follow certain interests. But- the shit you’re constantly fed through the video feeds on Instagram with the same ass dance moves from people drives me nuts. If I see one more chick bite her tongue while dancing I’ll go bananas.

I think Instagram is so toxic with every Instagram model photoshopping every picture. I remember being younger wondering why I didn’t look like them and was super insecure for years. I deleted it and have felt a lot better. I think it’s toxic for little girls especially

It's not cringey so much as just an online shop/ for businesses now. 'Influencers' are m just advertisements and everything is geared toward selling you something. I deleted my oersinal account years ago, I just have an anonymous account for shopping. I feel too old for social media now, let the children enjoy themselves on tiktok or whatever now lol.

It really sucks for me because I hate social media but I have to use in order to make money. The people behind the screens can be really nasty.
