Best carseat insert for newborn

What insert do you like best for your baby? My son's carseat insert sucks and doesn't support him. Help a momma out plzz

You should not add any insert that didn’t come with the car seat. It’s not safe to add anything

You should only use the insert that came in the box with your infant carrier.  Most inserts are used until the infant weighs 11lbs but you will want to read your seats Manual to know the specifics for your seat.. It is unsafe to use anything else because they are not crash tested with your infant seat. Using other products could harm your baby in the event of a car accident, as well as void your seats warranty. I honestly don’t know why those inserts are on the market. 
Some infant seats *may* allow you to use a tightly rolled receiving blanket BUT you should read your car seat manual/ and or call the manufacturer to find out for sure if one can be used.  You could also check with a CPST (child passenger safety technician) and they can answer any question you have as well.

I noticed that my son did that in the graco too. If it’s safe, raise the shoulder straps (look at when it’s possible to do so), and make sure the chest clip is at nipple/armpit height. Once I started accurately clipping my son into the car seat, his head/neck were a LOT more supported.

Our son was premature and quite small when we took him home so we struggled with that for awhile. We tried an insert an it actually didn’t help at all then his head was falling forward instead of sideways. What we ended up doing is switching from the infant carrier to the 4n1 convertible car seat and it supported his head way better.
