bassinets??

baby will be here this week!!! 
i’ve decided i want him close for the first few weeks so i’m looking into bassinets, since he will only sleep in it for a few weeks i don’t want to spend that much. any recommendations??

Why o my a few weeks? Babies can stay in a bassinet until 6 months (longer if premature).
I’d suggest a co-sleeper/bedside sleeper bassinet if you want Bub close, that way you can have it with side down next to bed or side up on the other side of the room.

Facebook marketplace and resale shops tend to have nice used ones. My in-laws found a cute bassinet for like $20 at a used baby store. I've found both convertable cribs I own from NextDoor and FB Marketplace.

We’ve used the arms reach co sleeper with all our babes and really like it. You can get risers that lift it up so its even with your bed height. And there are also straps that come with it so you can attach it to your mattress and the one side collapses so it is easier to get to baby in the middle of the night. Or you can always keep the sides up and push the co sleeper up against a wall if you don’t want it attached to the bed.

If you have room for a pack n play instead of a bassinet I would do that. My baby hated her bassinet and it was a big waste of money in my opinion. If I had a do-over I would use the pack play as the “bassinet” instead.

We use this for my baby. We tried a pack n play but my anxiety needed me to be able to see him, and he nurses throughout the night. This is the easiest thing we found to transfer back and forth between bed and bassinet

Pack n play with bassinet insert. Our kids used it for a solid 5 months and then we moved them down to the regular pack n play level for a couple more months and then moved them to their own room.
