Induction 2/10 💙
Hey mommas! My baby boy Xavier made his grand entrance yesterday afternoon. So I'll let you guys know how my induction went!
Got at the hospital at 5am, changed & got all hooked up to IVs by 6:30. They started me on Pitocin, contractions immediately started 3-4 minutes apart. I was already 3cm & 50% effaced when I arrived. I tried taking a nap but the contractions kept me up, they were starting to space out but they got a bit stronger. My dr came check me at 8:30 & I was at 5cm, about 90% effaced. She didnt break my water just yet bc he was still just kind of floating around & not pushing down into my pelvis. My contractions came back closer 2-3 minutes apart around 9:30, and they started getting a lot stronger. Right after, my dr came check me again, I was still the same but baby was moving down lower so she broke my water & I got the epidural by 10:30 so that I could relax the rest of the time. (I knew what to expect painwise bc I got induced with my first) After the epidural all I could feel was the pressure of him slowly engaging, and by 1pm I was 7cm & cervix completely thinned out! After reaching 7cm my nurses plan was to check me every hour, so at 2pm I was almost at 9cm & losing a bunch of bloody mucus. I started getting the epidural shakes, which I experienced with my first when it was go time. So once they became unbearable & I started feeling a lot more pressure, I called my nurse to come check me because it felt like it was time to push. She came check me at 2:50 & I was completely dilated. After the nurse set up, we started pushing at 3:10. My dr arrived around 3:25 & Xavier was born at 3:32! Only 22 minutes of pushing & my boy was here😍
Good luck to the rest of the february mommas!❤️
