Convertible Car seat?

I'd like some recommendations on a good convertible car seat. I was looking into the Graco 4ever all-in-one but it's 299.99 and I would be putting it on my registry. I already have a newborn car seat so I want a convertible for when my baby grows out of the newborn. Therefore, I have time before I need the convertible but I'd still like to put one on my registry incase a family member gets it for me.

We are getting two of the Graco 4ever seats after Christmas. It's expensive but I've heard nothing but great things about it.

This is the one we have for when our baby boy grows out of his infant seat. It's great and fits in pretty much every vehicle.

Definitely look into the recaro convertible car seats. They are pricy but well worth it.

My daughter hated her infant seat so we let her pick her convertible seat. We had them strapped to a seat in the store and picked based on her reactions. She hated britax (she looked enclosed and claustrophobic in it) but LOVED the Maxi-Cosi Pria. We swear to this day she has the most comfortable seat in the car. It's a safe seat yet very very cushioned.

I have the Graco 4 ever and I LOVE IT and my son loves it too! It so comfortable and loves to keep a toy in one cup holder and his cup in the other. He usually falls right to sleep during car rides and I've felt it and I would too if my seat felt that awesome. It will take you from rear facing all the way to the end of your child needing a booster. I know it sounds like a lot but if you think about all the seats you will but in transition it's so much cheaper in the long run! They go from newborn, to rear facing convertible, to forward facing toddler seat, to a backed booster, to a backless booster. That's four seats not including the newborn seat. Some rear facing convertibles turn forward facing but some don't. I just bought the one. I don't want to mess with all the different seats. I prefer to just but one.

After going through an infant car seat, front facing convertible seat, and now a booster seat for my 4.5 year old I went for the graco all in one. It's a one time expense, and it really does save money over time. I also registered for a travel system so that in the first few months I'll be able to just take the infant seat out and place it right into the stroller. But I am all for not having to buy any more car seats for the next 10 years (or so the box says)
