SAHM=Full time job?

Just curious on everyone’s view on this topic.

I voted no because it’s way more than a full time job in my opinion. It’s 24/7 and “on call” at nights.

Of course it is. Being a SAHM means you don’t get vacation days, you don’t get sick days. You don’t get to call out when you need a mental health day. Being a parent is a 24/7 job.

There’s a great video floating around on YouTube that shows a group of people applying for a job and the requirements are everything that a stay at home mom does. You can watch everyone saying “okay” and nodding their head to all the requirements until the very end of the video when they were told they have to do it for free. Their jaws drop for a moment and then realize it’s everything their moms did. Some cry and even call their mom, it’s super sweet.

Is this even a question? It’s a 24-7 job, even more than a full time job, it’s all day, all night, all weekends, all holidays, all weather, all locations, no time off for sickness , mental health, vacation, or anything .

It all depends on how old your kids are. When they are babies? Yes, absolutely but when they get older and start school that changes.

I used to think I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I thought it would be “easy” and not a “job” 
 Boyyyyyy was I wrong!! 
We get my stepdaughter for 2 weeks June and 2 weeks July every summer (on top of his regular custody arrangement of weekends and other holidays) and just in that short 2 weeks each time I realized how draining it is and how much actual work it is! 
My husband would be working 6am-10pm running his own business so I’d be with my step daughter from morning til night and that shit gets HARD! In my opinion it’s harder (and worse lol) than having a full time job 40 hours a week 😂 zero adult interaction and spending literally every waking minute caring for and entertaining a child is exhausting!!!!! 
It’s more than a full time job! 
And I absolutely LOVE that time with my stepdaughter but it is definitely a “full time” job to be a SAHM. And I’ve only experienced it in 2 weeks at a time lol it’s fun and rewarding but it’s hard work !!

Of course it is. If you were working outside the home you'd have the kids in daycare. So of course taking care of them yourself is a ft job!

It’s more than a full time job. I wake up with kids, with them all day, all evening when husband is home, and sometimes night time when they wake up. Even when my husband comes home, I’m not off duty. 
I’ve been scheduling time leave to have me time alone for with friends maybe once or twice wveey 2 weeks.

It’s not a full time job it’s 24/7 job you don’t get paid you don’t get time to be sick or pee peace, you can’t take a break unless their asleep, you have to multitask constantly.
