There’s no reason why you can’t have platonic friends of the opposite sex if you’re a trustworthy person. If he’s got a problem with it then it’s probably because he wants to control you or he’s probably cheating on you and he wants to seem like he’s worried about you cheating because he “cares”

If y’all are adults, he doesn’t “let” or “not let” you do anything, but you should ask him about it.

In no relationship does my partner “let me” do anything. If they wanted to have a conversation with me about specific concerns they had with a specific person and talk through them so we can find a solution that makes everyone feel okay together, sure no problem. That’s reasonable.
If my partner ever said straight up “you’re not allowed to be friends with guys” or “you’re not allowed to be friends with girls”, that is a major 🚩 to me and would possibly be something I’d break up with them over. Overreach in control like that can very easily turn into more serious abuse in no time.
