C section info needed

Today I was told by my DR they highly recommended doing a c section this time. My first born I had a 4th degree tear, and the chances of that happening again are very likely. She went into detail about all the health complications that could follow if I tear again like that. Im scared of doing a c section, but it seems like the wiser decision. Can anyone share their experiences with c section, good , bad , or those of you who had vaginal and then c section on second child.
