When did your toddler start talking?

My son just turned 2 a couple of weeks ago. He still doesn't talk fully. Just says a few words and tries. He is bilingual, so my husband only speaks French with him and I speak English with him. He understands both languages fluently and understands everything we say to him, but he just doesn't say any sentences. He will blabber a lot and says maybe like 10 words fluently like banana, bowl, yogurt, baby, etc. 
He still uses a pacifier. Could this be it?

Kids raised in full bilingual house will take a little longer to speak per our pediatrician. (We are the same but with Arabic/English)

Neither of my body were talking at 2.   Just a few words.  My oldest is 3 and a half now amd in the last 6 months his vocabulary has just exploded.   He was significantly behind and now he is completely where he should be at his age.   With no therepy.  I think my boys are just late talkers.

my son was the same (spanish & english household) but now at 3, he’s a little chatterbox lol don’t stress yourself out. if he’s understanding what you are saying to him, that’s a good sign.

Every kid is different, my niece was reading at a year and a half, freakishly smart, where her sister was the polar opposite, The only thing that ever motivated her younger sister was food or money, and she still the same now. As a teenager. But it was the same thing when she was younger. Her name started with a letter M, she would make a W and flip the paper over, she just took longer than her sister that’s all. They put her in soccer, she just stood around and did nothing, they told her five dollars a goal, she’s on the A-Team and getting drafted for high school teams and she still in middle school. It takes motivation. Her sister has a 4.2 GPA, national honor Society, she made it to the state level for the national spelling bee, every kid is different they learn different, they do everything at their own pace. Just be patient and it’s practicing in the more time you spend with them. Children learn best through music, sing songs, that’s how I learn Spanish with music. My nephew, blind and autistic, you could sing full songs in English in Spanish, But conversation was difficult for him. But music we figured out was the best way to communicate with him. Just give it time and be patient every kid is different￼

If you're concerned about a speech delay you can definitely ask your pediatrician for an assessment. Our 2 year old speaks in full sentences but hes much more vocal than every other toddler I know. 
Children raised in a bilingual environment talk later generally speaking too though so that could be a factor!

He will talk when he’s ready. My nephew was like that and didn’t start fully talking until he was three. I kept telling people who were concerned that he didn’t have nothing more to say to us. 😂

My daughter said her first word around 6 months and now (14months) says around 25+ words, and can speak in short sentences. I've been told she's advanced tho. Also I'm sure that him being in a bilingual household plays a factor, I wouldn't worry about it.
