Did introducing a bottle effect breastfeeding?

If not, when did you introduce a bottle? My son is almost 4 weeks and EBF. I would like to give him a bottle but I’m scared it’ll mess up his latch or something

Just make sure to pace feed. Very important for breastfeeding babies. 
Prevent over feeding and helps with going back and forth from breast to bottle. Bottle is easier to suck from  than breast.

I would definitely go ahead and do it because if not your baby may not take to the bottle. I waited 2 weeks then introduced and babe did fine with it!

I think I saw the recommendation to introduce bottles and pacifiers for breastfed babies is 4 to 6 weeks so you should be good

Nope! Baby had to start off with a bottle from birth because my milk hadn’t come in (he was born prematurely) and he still ended up preferring breastfeeding, though he will happily take both breast and bottle. That’s just our case though. Also try to use a preemie nipple (dr browns is awesome), which will help him want to keep breastfeeding. We still are using the preemie nipple at 5 months

4 weeks would be the perfect time to introduce an occasional bottle! After 6 weeks I think you run the risk of them not taking to one. And as someone else said, definitely pace feed 😊

It didn't effect anything besides allowing me to get more sleep and actually produce more milk. I introduced a bottle within the first month. I got lucky and the first bottle was the only one my daughter liked.

Our baby had a bottle from day 5 due to weight loss and requiring formula feeds to help. It didn’t affect the breast feeding until we hit the 3 month mark and he now gets extremely frustrated on the breast. I know my milk supply is poor (and I think this is the reason) so don’t let this put you off if your milk supply is good. There are real advantages to being able to take a bottle even with expressed milk etc from your partner. ☺️

We introduced at 2 weeks every few days, and at 3 weeks as a regular thing once per day so I could get some more sleep. We use tommy tippee pacifiers, bottles, and my boobs, and baby takes all three interchangeably.

We did bottles and pacifiers from day 1. It was out of necessity due to c section, GDM, jaundice, etc. but my baby is almost 5 months now and he will literally take any bottle, boob, or binky you put in front of him. I’m glad we started early because we didn’t have to deal with bottle refusal when I went back to work. Make sure you use the slowest flow nipple
