Would you find this suspect when a man tells you something

So I’m talking to this man for a couple days and he’s really nice, and we get along well. But would you find it weird or questionable because of course men can have a past too, but he has a kid and but he’s not with the child’s mother anymore. Mainly because of his mother (that BIRTHED him) is why that relationship didn’t work out.

He told me that but I’m just curious would you not do it, because you can be the next one A relationship can get messed up with? and I have proof his mother is awful, like of course you’d think he’s just telling you that but we were on FaceTime and I heard how HIS MOM is and he was right 😮.
