Results of placenta testing- chorioamnionitis

Gillian

I had PPROM, diagnosed at 32 weeks, but we suspect my water had been slowly leaking since approximately 24 weeks when I had started to need adult diapers to keep dry during the day. Long story short, despite my three separate occasions of mentioning it to my doctor, she never tested me and it’s resulted in a major issue, including prolonged hospital stay for me and significant NICU time for our son.

I just received the results of my placenta testing and I was told chronic chorioamnionitis, patchy villous edema, plasma cell disiduitis, and immature placenta. My question is has anyone ever had this? I am intelligent enough to read about these things online and grab a general understanding of what they are and the effects they could potentially have on our son long-term.

Does anyone have experience with this? I’m currently not talking to OB, but I have put in a call with my sons pediatrician to discuss. What are your personal experiences with this type of infection, short and long term?
