Why is cat attacking??

Question

My cat randomly attacked my mum for no reason she was just walking and attacked her really badly. Anyone have any suggestions as to why??

I don't really have an explanation, they can be wild animals, but I advise she gets to the hospital asap for a tetanus shot because my mum was also attacked by a cat a nearly lost her lower leg because she didn't go to the hospital to be treated for the wounds and cats carry a lot of harmful bacteria in their claws and teeth. 😁

Does your mom usually get along with your cat? Because if they don't, cats can sometimes be very vengeful creatures plotting revenge to those they dislike....

When I was young we had a cat that my sister used to torture because she was a kid and did not know how to play with a cat and one day she was minding her own business and it attacked her legs but not anything as violent as what happened to your mom.

The only cat I've ever had attack for no reason was Charlie, but there was something wrong with him (never found out what because we had to rehome him since he was attacking our other older pets). Does your cat normally lash out? Like at anything, even his own feet. I'd get your mom to the doctor, probably an urgent care to get patched up, and monitor your kitty. If they display more aggressive behavior, more attacks, peeing outside the litter box, continuous scratching on things other than scratching post, then look into it. take them to a vet to see if they're sick (and therefor acting out), or if they need training. But again, get your mom patched up, I've NEVER seen that much blood from a cat attack, even when Charlie shredded my hand. That's either a VERY deep cut or the kitty nicked a vessel.

Take your mom to the doctor and take your cat to the vet. Maybe he's sick, to suddenly act that way?
