Help! Sensory issues
To start my daughter has an appointment with her provider, just needed some advice. My 6y daughter started having ocd like tendencies and now sensory issues. At first it was socks, I didn’t think anything of it because most kids (myself included) has issues with the way their socks feel. However, now it’s full blown nothing feels right on her. Her shirt is too loose or feels like it’s coming off of her shoulder, shirts with buttons you can just forget about it, her jeans feel too loose or too tight, her shoes feel weird, her underwear are too loos or too tight. Just a couple months ago, she wore all these clothes without a problem. It’s to the point she is crying hysterically. I don’t know how to help her. And it’s not just clothes either, if there is something wet on the floor (our dogs are sloppy drinkers or if we clean the floor) she panics. Food has became an issue too with textures (used to love bananas, now there too mushy). Any advice? I mean do I buy new clothes? I feel terrible saying to wear it, but she has to wear clothes. (I have right now 2 outfits that she is ok with) She eats, it’s just certain food she won’t, but also she used to not like broccoli, but now if we steam it and it’s crunchy/firm she will eat it.
