Family Drama Post
So, I guess that I just need to vent, and wanted some validation.
I had a follow-up ultrasound scheduled due to having placenta previa. I scheduled it two weeks ago. I called my mom to help with my older daughter and getting her on the bus, so that my husband could be present.
Here is where the drama comes in… my mom agreed and said it was fine, and she would help. Keep in mind 2 weeks in advance. My older sister calls my mom last Thursday to get her kids to school because she had an unannounced doctor’s visit. My mom drops this on my and asks if I could find someone else on Friday… two days before the ultrasound. Kind of surprised by this, and hurt, I seek other childcare options. I end up finding someone, that could get her to school.
The issue is, now I do not trust my mother to watch my daughter when I go into labor. I never ask my mother for any help, I.e. babysitting or helping out, but when I do, it is seriously NEEDED! Heaven forbids, my sister stub her toe or need to get her haircut, because my mom will come running.
Honestly, I know it all worked out and I should be thankful, but it shows the reliability of my mother. She will watch my sister’s children for vacations, date nights and other frivolous events. That’s why I’m at a loss for words…
Am I just being hormonal, or is that messed up?
