My baby boy has arrived!!!

Janeel

I went in on 12/16 to be induced at 40w4d. I receives 2 treatments of Misoprostal vaginally within a 8 hour span. No progress (cervix still soft and fingertip dilated), however, contractions were getting more intense and often. I was then given a shot of Fentenal and Bendryl which eased my pain for only an hour. At that point, I requested an epidural because I am not one who can take pain, so not only were the contractions painful, I was unable to tolerate the vaginal cervix checks so to the pain. I was then transferred over to L&D where I received an epidural for pain. After a little while, I was checked and was 1 cm, then checked again and was 3 cm. I then had to receive the medication to slow downy contractions because my son heart rate was dropping and i was only 4 cm at the time. My contractions were coming every minute or so and not really going him enough time on between to recover. I was checked again and was then 5 cm and the doctor ordered a little Pitocin to get the party started back up. Well my son heart rate began to drop again, so all medication was stopped completely except for the epidural of course and the doctor began talking with me about a possible emergency c-section. I was then checked again because I was feeling a little pressure and I hit 6 cm, 100 effaced, however, doctor wanted to wait to break my water. Well about 2 minutes later, the nurse was in the process of checking on me and I was in the midst of asking her what she thought the pressure was and my water just broke. So u got all cleaned up, doctor came back in checked my son's heart rate and he was really in distress, so c-section it was.

It was great to finally have my son in my arms. He was born on 12/17/15 @ 6:19am, weighing 7 lbs, 3 oz, 20.5 inches long. He is truly God sent.
