8 week ultrasound no baby just a sac?

I went to my ob today and we did any ultrasound, it was abdominal (I am overweight)

but he barely moved the wand around and said can’t really see the baby cause it’s early but there’s a good sac then finished. The nurse then said once he left “there’s a baby you can see it right here” pointed to something but I couldn’t make it out. So now they scheduled me for a sonogram in 2 weeks, is this normal? With my first son the same thing happened but I was 6 weeks so I understood that it was early then.

I’ll repost a better picture once I leave my in laws home and can grab a better angle (they don’t know yet)

Just a little update for anyone wondering, I went in today around what was supposed to be 10 weeks. Baby was only measuring 7 weeks and had no heartbeat. I did end up miscarrying. Thank you everyone.
