If your bf was not allowed to a wedding do you think it's fair that he would end the relationship of you went?

I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and my bf can't go because of the price and they don't know him and they also don't want people that aren't close or related at the wedding.. He said if I go were over. I've tried to explain it to him but he's not having it so now I don't know what to do.. Any advice?
