Did breast feeding help you loose weight?

I’m down 30lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. The weight literally fell off of me since my son was born and I’m fitting into pants I haven’t worn since freshman year of college. When a coworker commented on how great I look and what I was doing to lose the weight, I joked that I had my own little liposuction at home 🤣

I actually didn’t lose my baby weight until I stopped breastfeeding!  I was always starving while breastfeeding for someone 🤷🏼‍♀️

I said no but that’s partly because I didn’t gain weight while pregnant. I did gain weight when I stopped breastfeeding though so I’m sure the breastfeeding helped to control my weight lol.

I meant to put yes! I’ve lost about 35 pounds so far in 5 months. I haven’t really put much effort into losing weight otherwise because I’m so hungry all the time I think if I did I could lose more. But I have a big oversupply I think that contributes. I also had a jumpstart because I didn’t gain any weight while I was pregnant since I had to be on a diet for my gestational diabetes.

I don't lose all the weight until I stop breastfeeding. I did it for more than a year with both of my babies. Once I quit it takes like 6 months for me to get back down to where I started prebaby.

I breast fed and lost weight but I think it was more so related to my lack of appetite and post partum depression than breastfeeding since I continued to lose weight after stopping.

Yes, but it still took about 5mo. Then within two weeks of stopping breastfeeding, I gained 10 pounds even though I cut way back on eating.

I was back to my pre pregnancy weight within 2 weeks, I didn't breastfeed though, I pumped as he wouldn't latch, not sure if that's 100% the reason I lost the weight
