Premature = autism ?

Question

I had my baby early and she is doing well since the beginning m,but I fear that because she’s early she may have a higher chance for learning disability.
Is autism or other learning disabilities guaranteed because she’s a preemie? 
Anyone have a preemie and it didn’t turn out autistic?  & At what weeks were they born ?

My dad was a preemie - he is absolutely not autistic, nor has he a learning difficulty. 
So no there's no guarantee either way.

There is an increased risk of learning disabilities and autism in children who were born prematurely. It is an increased risk though, not a guarantee, and it doesn’t mean their symptoms will be severe. A lot of it depends on how premature, why baby was premature, and if baby has any other health problems.

LOL no. How premature was your baby? Also, I’m a mom of 3 preemies of varying degrees, and none of them have any intellectual disabilities, or any disabilities at all!

There is no connection between autism and prematurity. My son was born at 32 weeks and is now 3 years old and ahead of most other kids his age.

Autism has not been linked to any certain cause yet. They are researching it a lot, and finding a correlarion with being premature would be scientifically really easy to look for. So it would be talked about if that link did exist.

None of the preemies I’ve known have autism. Also a girl I worked with for years was born at 28 weeks and her brother was 32 weeks, both had great health and no concerns.
