It's subjective to what kind of pump you're looking at. Lansiloh is known for their manual. I had a Spectra S1 and Dr. Brown's battery powered pumps for my first kid. They both worked well and both of them broke before the 6 month mark. Dr. Brown's replaced my pump due to it being under warranty but sadly I voided my Spectra one from not replacing correct parts frequently enough. 
Personally, this pregnancy I got the Motif Luna with battery. I had to use a portable battery pack when pumping with my daughter when she was born because I travel and needed to pump on the go. The Luna wasn't fully covered by my insurance unlike when I ordered my pumps from my last pregnancy. The settings are similar to the Spectra pump I used which is why I chose it.
