Confused

Ok here goes, ovulated on the 1st of dec ( got a smiley face on ovulation digital so got to it and was already anyway days before, so i suffer with pcos so understand if i dont have a period but with seeing me ovulate on test i gather i would be leading up to 1, so after 18 days of apparant "ovulation" ive still not started my period and when i last tested with a pregnancy test on the 12th of this month it was negative?  So im very confused as it is my first time trying to concieve this way, i have a 3 year old daughter which was a major surprise so this im just gettin used to? Any advice would be appreciated xx
