Not to scare you but I had a miscarriage last month at 6 weeks and it started with light pink spotting but by later that day it was full blown dark red heavy heavy bleeding severe cramping and large clots. I also had a pregnancy where I had some spotting at 13 weeks and all was totally normal

I hate to say it but yes this is a sign. I’ve had 2 both miscarriages I bled differently. First one I spotted for days and never bled that dark. Second one was lots of clots coming out and was spotting a couple days before. If you have pain in your left side that’s a sign of miscarriage

With both losses the spotting three heavy within hours. If you’re just spotting, it could be normal. Both successful pregnancies I had mild spotting

Spotting can be normal but it also can be a sigh of a miscarriage.
I spotted in one of my pregnancies and it was fine.
My advice would be to monitor it and see if it gets heavier or not, I would also mention it to your healthcare provider
