Would you let a newly turned 2 year old help dye Easter eggs?

I know every child is different, but in general, will this be a fun activity for child AND PARENT LOL. Or am I going to regret it and be covered in dye 🤣. My first thought was of course she can help this year, but my husband is iffy so now I kinda want to know what you guys have done. Is a brand new 2 old enough to handle this?

Always set your expectations wayyyy low with toddlers. Kiddo could be really interested, but it'll still be very messy. Or maybe they won't want to do it at all 😂 
Personally I'd just embrace the mess and do it outside if possible 🤷

Definitely just be prepared for a mess. The first year we did it my daughter was one. We use cool whip and food coloring. So fun and messy

I have a 16 month old & he “helped” dye eggs yesterday! He was interested for about 2 seconds and spilled one of the dye cups everywhere. He also chucked an egg across the kitchen 🤣. Still had fun though, mostly with everyone else that was there though!

My son is 23 months and we did it twice this year! We did the “classic” way with the dye kits and vinegar and he was very mehh about it. We also did a version with whipped cream and food coloring, which he had way more fun with! 
It’s messy but just put a towel down, or do it outside or even in the bathtub!

Yes! My toddler has helped out since she was 20 months old. That first year she just wanted to watch and pick out the colors we used. Last year I had her draw on each egg with a white crayon and pick out the dye colors. This year we just did it today (she's 3.5 now) and she did all the dyeing herself and finished them with stickers!!

It would depend on the kid. My first had always hated messes since he was under 2 and would try his best to be careful and not make a mess.
My middle one has nonverbal autism and makes messes on purpose. I also couldn't trust him not to try to drink the egg dye. 
My little one is 21 months. And idk, honestly. He's very coordinated and might could. But he also has a tendency to get frustrated and purposely make a mess. For instance, if he's trying to get food on his fork and can't, he will slap his plate of food onto the floor. Definitely wouldn't want vinegar everywhere because he got frustrated and slapped it off the table.

I wanted to as my oldest is turning 4 soon and super cautious BUT I also have a soon to be 2 year old who’s life goal is to ruin everything I own lol so I’m going to hold off for a little while

We did it with our last year at one and he loved it. Obviously we were more in control but this year we will give him more freedom. We’ve got smocks for the little ones and we got several different ways to color them so if one is not working we try another. Stickers, markers, traditional dye, in a baggie, with shaving cream etc.

My oldest will be 3 at the end of May. That’s a big pass for me. I’ll probably do it w them next year. Next year my youngest will be just two and I’ll let her help, if she wants to. This year, it’s two, that are too young, not just one.
