Has anyone used Nexplanon birth control before? I am getting it in 3 days and just want to hear other people’s experience. Thanks!!

Nexplanon isn't that great. I had it for 3 years and I was excited to get it taken out. I got mood swings, I wasn't horny unless my partner started it. My periods never stopped they just lasted longer and very unexpected. Where I got it put in I felt pain in It sometimes there are better birth controls that wont make you feel like shit. I thought i was pregnant right before i got it taken it out my period was 20 days late. My boobs were in pain i couldn't sleep i was cramping for afew days but didn't get my period. Till i got it taken out.

Ugh I hated it and had it removed after 6 months. I was incredibly moody bled for months at a times. I was miserable.

I really liked the Nexplanon. I had two “rounds” of it, then took it out to get pregnant and there was no problem with that. Periods were much lighter, but there were weeks where I would just have light bleeding all the time and it was old blood (not bright red). Overall,  if you’re looking for a reliable birth control you don’t want to worry about taking everyday, this is great!

I had to get mine taken out early within 2.5 years early. My moods were getting sporadic and it was messing with my mental health as well. My cramps were getting worse and it was not helpful at all.

Nexplanon was the First hormonal birth control I tried After my first baby. I personally didn’t like it, constant light bleeding for 3 months caused my sex drive to go way down and my anxiety was through the roof. I became really quiet and moody, after a discussion with my obgyn figured out hormonal birthcontrol wasn’t my thing I didn’t like how it messed with me, so she recommended phexxi I’ve been using it for about 6 months now and I love it! No negative side effects or hormones. It’s basically a spermicide you insert like a tampon up to an hr before sex (have to do another if ur going another round) it’s a good option if hormones aren’t your thing

Personally I hate it and am having it removed. I've gained so much weight, had hair loss, mood swings, constantly bled, my skin bruises like a peach literally from pokes and horrific night sweats. I honestly wish if never had it because I've got to re-lose all my post baby weight again and have dealt with so many side effects.
It works for some and not for others, you know your body, I'd say its worth a try but make sure you know or are comfortable with potential side effects.

honestly there are cons and pros to everything! i used alcohol wipes to clean the injection site until my arm was no longer sore! i didn’t have a period for 2 years and didn’t get pregnant however in the first year i gained 80 pounds and even with a calorie deficit and working out 5 days a week I didn’t lose a pound until i got it removed. i have friends who had the same experience and some who didn’t gain a pound and loved it. it’s just up to how you personally feel with it and how your body reacts. remember your body knows best so if something doesn’t seem right then listen but if it works for you then that’s amazing! good luck!
