Quick natural birth for FTM
A little late to this app but wanted to share the story of my baby’s birth! Natalie Emeria was born on April 8th, 2022 at 11:53 pm via unmedicated vaginal birth. She came in at 6lbs 13oz and 19in long.
My labor/delivery was such an amazing process. I was at 39 weeks and 1cm dilated and asked to get a membrane sweep on Thurs. April 7th. I started noticing consistent contractions at around 2pm the next day. I had been having Braxton Hicks throughout pregnancy and these didn’t feel any worse so I was still unsure of whether I was in labor or not. I waited it out until I couldn’t handle the contractions anymore and went to the hospital at 8:30 pm, walked into the unit by myself and the nurses had me walk to my room (fiancé was driving to hospital from work). Turned out I was already 6cm dilated. I labored mostly standing, leaning on the bed and when I got to 10cm at around 11:00pm, transitioned to hands and knees on the bed. My water broke at 11:20 while pushing and baby came out with an arm near her head so I had to flip to be on my back while pushing. After flipping, baby came out at 11:53pm.
It was such a quick and easy delivery especially for my first pregnancy. Basically went in to the hospital at 830pm and she was here in just under 4 hours. I’m so ecstatic to be a mommy!
