Hey ladies!

For anyone who is interested in an induction process I am going to document it on here for my records. I got the call at 2:00am that by 4:00am (April 18) they would be ready for me. They gave me an IV with fluids and until 8:00 I just hung out. They said my cervix was closed but I was having contractions every 2 mins. They gave me a dose of cervidil and said they would check me again in four hours. So around noon I’ll have an update.

Noon update: No real update yet! I am having a lot of contractions mostly in my back and im not feeling them too badly yet. They said they are going to wait awhile before they check me again. My husband went to go get me some clear liquids and I’ll check back in later.

5:14 update: no update I think they are letting me sit with the cervidil for the full 12 hours (until 8:00pm) so I won’t know if my cervix softened enough or dilated. Still having contractions on my own so we’ll see what happens next.

9:00 update: so I only dilated to 1cm :( 12 hours and such little progress. They can’t fit a folley ballon because I’m not dilated enough and they can’t give me misoprostol because of my contractions coming every 2-6 minutes. They can’t give me pitocin because my cervix isn’t soft enough yet. So they gave me another dose of the cervidil. Another 12 hours before the next check. To say I’m frustrated is an understatement. Let’s hope tomorrow goes better.

April 19th 10:00 check

2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Starting on pitocin! I plan on going as long as possible without the epidobut we’ll see how long I last.

5:20 update

Foley ballon was placed….not gonna lie extremely painful! It stayed in until 8:10 lots of bloody show when removed.

10:00pm update:

4cm dilated 80% effaced and they broke my water! Pitocin is being upped accordingly. I have no painkillers and not really feeling contractions yet.

2::00am April 20th

Severe pain from a ton of pressure of baby moving down contractions were coming fast and furious only dilated to 5cm

5:00am

I opt for the epidural. They struggled mightily to get it in my husband told me it took over half an hour I was stuck all up and down my spine screaming my head off since needles freak me out and I was feeling some jabs

11:00 am

Still only 5 cm dilated baby is at station zero and pushing on my cervix. He is blocking my bladder from pushing urine to my catheter bag (which took 4 doctors and several attempts to get it in since baby is in the way. Was told I might be headed for c-section if cervix doesn’t dilate more by the next check

2:00pm

Dilated to a 6 and baby is still doing great so they are upping pitocin to try and get it dilated

More….had to get another IV put in in case of c-section and to draw blood for labs to check my kidney function since my

Urine output is weird. I have until 7pm to dilate enough to try a vaginally. If not I will be headed to the OR. I am beyond tired frustrated and feel straight up tortured at this point. I hope things are going better for you ladies! I will never get an induction again.

Perfect little man is 8 lbs and 15 ounces. He has long dark curly brown hair and I couldn’t be more in love I hope everything goes much better for the rest of you! I’m the future I will skip the induction ha def not a positive experience for me
